-sweatshirt
-fabric scissors
–extra-large eyelet kit
-hammer
–3/4″ wide shoelaces
–marking pen for fabric
–Fray Check
–cutting mat, rotary cutter, and ruler (optional)
–medium weight iron-on interfacing (optional)

If you feel like your sweatshirt material is a bit thinner than you would like and might need some help holding up the large eyelets, you can cut two 2″ wide strips of fusible interfacing and iron them onto the back of where you’ll place your eyelets for some extra support.

LOVE this idea! I’m going to give it a try. Wouldn’t also be darling in a sweatshirt dress design? Thanks for sharing the idea!

Omg I love this! I love that it’s a sew project with NO SEWING required!!! (the sewing machine and I do not get along)
This is such a cool DIY
It looks so cool, I love it!

So fun! I love that the eyelets are oversized and this is a sweatshirt. Many of the lace-ups I see in store are romantic or sexy and this one is all about being casual and cool. It’s a great way to mix it up. 🙂
I’m in a never-ending search to make my comfy-home clothes look cute! Well, at least cute enough to be able to wear it to Trader Joes. This fits the bill! Won’t be surprised if I make one in every color..
