I love seeing all the weather-related sweater and tops that have the fluffy clouds or rainbow raindrops, so I thought I would create a more geometric rainbow/cloud situation and add some texture with wool balls and embroidery thread—so cute!
–25 10mm white felt wool balls
–colored 10mm felt wool balls
-embroidery thread in 7 rainbow colors
-white wool felt sheet
-washi tape
-needle, thread, and fabric scissors
–plain colored romper
-fabric glue

Move over a bit and repeat the process with the next color in the rainbow and so on until you have all your colors sewn in. I varied the lengths of my lines so that the felt balls on the end would be staggered and not all next to each other in a line. I tried not to pull the thread too tight so that the fabric wouldn’t pucker up.

This looks so cute with her gold sneakers and pink turban hat and since it’s a rainbow jumper, any color of accessory will match! Just one thing to make dressing a baby a little easier 😉 xo. Laura

I absolutely love this romper! I am usually making different quilting projects but would love to give this a try. Thank you so much for putting this together.
this is very cute, I love it!
thanks for sharing <3
I love your cleaning caddies! I keep mine in baskets under the sink but not as organized as yours! I love the idea of labeling the caddy; I would need to get a new caddy now and I need to remember to put my rubber gloves inside the caddy too! Hope you are having a great day Jenn!
just have to comment and say how beautiful that baby girl is!
Thank you so much for sharing!
You have made the whole process so simple. Anyone can follow the guidelines and do it including me. I am a beginner when it comes to sewing.
Soooo cute!! 🙂 I can already see my little niece in one of those. Looks like I’ve got my hands full this Friday 🙂
Thanks for the tip!
OMG! This is such a great idea with a onesie, I do have several that I can dazzle her up with. They are cute.
Totally loving how you personalized this romper with some embroidery sewing! The colors just pop and the theme is super fun!
what a great DIY! I don’t have kids but I might try it and turn it into a gift.

Even if you think the balls are sewn on tight, they are major choking hazards. I wouldn’t trust my hand sewing, nor my baby for trying to pluck them off. But that’s just my rule, I’m super strict about anything within reach that could remotely be a choking hazard.
This was my first thought too!
Very cute! Did you try to wash it yet? Is it machine washable? Merci!
Hi! I would hand wash this to be safe!
Laura 🙂
Lola is so cute is makes my ovaries hurt just a little. You can tell she’s a loved babe!
This is sooo adorable! I really imagine making things like that as well when I have kids in the future!
